The Old Man and the Sea

In the movie, The Old Man and the Sea, the director, Ernest Hemingway did a great job with the setting because the majority of the film took place in the sea and the film was about an old fisherman who decided to go fishing and expected to defeat fish. In the film I think that the special effects were good because whenever there was action, the camera captured everything between the man and the fish. Everything seemed so real and there were several moments where they captured action under water also. I think the costumes were also appropriate. The sound in this film was also better than what I expected to be, due to the film being old.

Hemmingway killed himself in the early 60s so which version did you see? Petrov, Sturgin, and Taylor all did versions although Surgis is the first (1958) and he had the freshest impression from Hemmingway and was probably the best director.
